Race Day at T.W.O.

The Following is a story from a New York Boy who went to the Grits for the first time. Yes, Jason Kind  a.k.a. Problem Child, and his buddy Bobby Fanning, drove from Long Island to Suches GA! The fact that two guys from Long Island could even find Suches GA is some what of a miracle. This was their rookie year at the Grits, and you can see....they learned a lot! Thanks for the story Jason...see u at next year's grits!....the squids
My friend Bobby Fanning and I left N.Y. thinking we would be in Suches, GA. in 11 hours. Oh were we wrong! We Got to the GA border at 11:30 PM after driving straight through. Then we started through the mountains. Which took two hours of white knuckle driving. We finally got to the Hotel at 2:00 am.
The next morning we woke up and did our food shopping. It is then when we found out that we were staying in a DRY TOWN. (No Beer). So if you are gonna stay in a hotel don't stay in Blairsville. It reminded me of that 80's movie Footloose.

Good...

Better....

Best!

After cruising around the town for a while on our YSR's. We decided to go check out where the race was going to be held. It was the most awesome selection of roads. 64 miles of twisty turnies.
At the campground where the race was going to be held we found out the info on what to expect from some of the Veteran riders. They were the nicest group of Helpful people we could ever meet.

We then went back to the Hotel to go over our bikes. It was getting dark out so we brought them in the room with us. "That didn't go over well with the Maid." We made sure everything was tight for the race on Sunday. Sunday morning we showed up late of course.
Filled our bikes up with fuel and went to the rider meeting at T.W.O campground. That's when we saw the memory wall with all the busted motorcycle plastics hanging on it. I then proceeded back to the trailer to get my full racing leathers. When we started the race I thought I would hang with my buddy through the whole thing. Not true. I stayed with him for about 3 of the 64 mile race and didn't see him again until the finish line.

The Starting Lineup!

Highest concentration of 50cc bikes in any spot on earth!

I would be going down roads that felt like forever. Then I started wondering if I read the map wrong. That's when you come upon another rider dressed as Superman or a Bumble Bee. The 64 miles went so fast I wish it was longer.
Team Calamari built us two of the best engines. My YSR finished in First place in the Medium weight class and my buddy finished in second place in the feather weight class. When we met at the finish we already started talking about next year. It was so worth the 1100 mile trip there. We hope to see more people there next year. Thank you everyone at TEAM CALAMARI. Thanks for the plug! TCR thinks the whole idea of the YSR is to go out and have some fun just like this!

NS50F's are every where!

Well..They are not all 50cc

Nice YSR!

Think this is the Florida Crew
